Graduate Summer Program
The Baruch College School of Public Affairs (SPA) has 45 fulltime faculty and over 800 graduate students pursuing degrees in public administration, education administration, public and healthcare policy, and nonprofit management. Many of its faculty have spent significant portions of their careers at senior levels in city, state, and federal government, and in nonprofit organizations. Students enrolled in the International Summer courses will have the opportunity to take two key classes, Introduction to the Nonprofit Sector and Administration of Nonprofit and Voluntary Agencies. The courses will emphasize the functions of the nonprofit sector with particular emphasis on relations with the public and business sectors. Topics include agency interaction with governmental and political institutions, planning and control systems, the role of the governing board, and the role of the executive director.
