Student Information

At Baruch College Continuing and Professional Studies, we believe that students should not only get a quality education, but should enjoy the experience as well. In keeping with this belief, we offer our students the following services:

Student Services Advisors
Our student services advisors serve as your primary voice within the Division. If you have any questions or concerns, need a referral, or have unresolved issues, you are encouraged to seek the assistance from our student service advisors. Student service advisors offices are located at the Vertical Campus, (55 Lexington Avenue) building, room 1-116.

Student Orientation
At the beginning of each term, we offer new and continuing students the opportunity to learn more about the services offered within the Division through our orientation sessions. During these sessions, students will learn what to expect while attending courses within the Divisions policies and procedures, and where to go for further assistance, when necessary.

Student Survey
The student services department sends out an annual survey to current students and alumni to gain a better understanding of the student experience within the Division. We use this information to tailor our programming and services to better meet your needs.

Student Referrals
We provide referrals to students for a variety of resources and services within the New York City metropolitan area that extend beyond our scope of service offerings. These services include: mental health and crisis counseling, substance abuse treatment, housing, health services, financial and legal services, disability services, and VISA/immigration issues.

Computer Labs
Continuing and Professional Studies has a network of workstations and servers to support our courses as well as open laboratory time available free of charge seven days a week during the academic year and six days a week during the summer session. Additionally certificate students are allotted a generous storage space on our data center for saving course work and building an online portfolio (an essential component to successful job hunting). We also have a selection of equipment (digital cameras, scanners, eye-ball cameras, etc.) available by request from the lab manager.

Open lab hours are typically available Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturay and Sunday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. Please note that due to course use, the labs are not available from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm Monday through Thursday. For additional information about lab locations and hours, please refer to our website.

Student Referral Incentive
Baruch College Continuing and Professional Studies Program invites current and former students to refer friends or family members to study in one of our certificate programs. If someone you refer enrolls, CAPS will show its appreciation by giving you an award of $25.

  • Incentive Referral Program Guidelines:
  • There is no limit to the number of new students you may refer to CAPS.
  • CAPS will pay $25 for each newly referred student who has enrolled and paid tuition in full for a CAPS certificate or full-time program, within one year from the date of submission of the incentive referral form.
  • Only one person will receive the $25 incentive fee for each newly enrolled student, based upon completion and submission of the application, on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the date and time recorded on the form.
  • Duplicate referrals of the same new student will not be eligible.
  • The form may be submitted via email, to: caps@baruch.cuny.edu
So come on, let us hear from you and help your family and friends connect with Baruch College, Continuing and Professional Studies.
