The Center for Business Communication

The Center for Business Communication at Baruch College's Division of Continuing and Professional Studies (CAPS) provides a range of classes specially designed to meet our students' academic, professional and social needs. We offer an integrated approach, ensuring that students receive a solid foundation in communication skills while enhancing their confidence and performance.

Classes are organized in a workshop format, where our highly qualified faculty members introduce theory, authentic models, strategies, and practical tips for effective business communication. Practice exercises, discussion, writing, business role-plays, simulations and presentations are then used to reinforce and expand students' knowledge and skills. Classes tend to be small, so students receive a great deal of individualized feedback and attention from the instructor.

Business Writing

Having strong written communication skills is a key to professional success. To help you develop and enhance your written communication skills, we offer classes in Business Writing, Business Writing for Executives, Writing Effective Proposals and Grammar for Better Business Communication.

Learn how to improve your tone, sentence structure, word choice, organization and formatting for a variety of written business communications, including emails, memos, letters, reports, proposals and more.

Business Oral Communication
Being able to speak effectively with colleagues, supervisors, employees, customers and clients is critical in the business world. The Center for Business Communication at Baruch CAPS offers targeted courses in oral communication to assist you in improving and expanding your speaking skills. Choose from: Oral Communication Skills for Professionals, Business Presentations, Business Presentations for Executives, Negotiation Strategies that Work, Voice and Diction for Business Professionals and Etiquette in the Business World.

Job Search and Job Enhancement
