Daytime Electives

Daytime electives are required for all students in the Academic Intensive English Program and are open to the general public.

These classes meet twice per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays for a total of four hours per week. (During the summer, electives meet twice per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays for a total of five hours per week).

Electives are grouped by proficiency level; this means there are courses designed for beginner, intermediate, and advanced students. These courses allow students to develop their language skills while concentrating on an area of interest.




Note: New students must take the placement test before registering for a daytime elective. Please call our enrollment team at 646-312-5000 to sign up for the placement test.
