Courses in French, Mandarin and Spanish are offered to help you develop your conversational skills. Learn appropriate language structures, vocabulary, pronunciation and cultural information for communicating effectively. It is recommended that students take a level 1 French, Mandarin or Spanish course or have prior knowledge of French, Mandarin or Spanish before entering the Language for Healthcare program.

These courses in French, Mandarin and Spanish help you develop your conversational skills when communicating with patients, family members and caregivers about medical issues. Learn appropriate language structures, vocabulary, pronunciation and cultural information for communicating effectively in a healthcare setting. A basic knowledge of French, Mandarin, or Spanish is required in order to take this course, either by completing a level 1 language course or by scoring a minimum of 275 on our online placement exam (contact our Program Coordinator, carolyn.allen@baruch.cuny.edu for further information).
