The Masala Bhangra Workout is derived from two Hindi words: Masala means spicy and Bhangra is the name of a traditional Punjabi folk dance. This exercise dance routine modernizes the high-energy folk dance combining traditional steps with Bollywood (Hindi film) moves. The resulting cardiovascular workout, created by Sarina Jain, the Jane Fonda of India, is exhilarating and fun for participants of all ages and fitness levels.

Learning belly dancing provides various physical benefits as well as an ideal outlet for self-expression. The dance tones your body while encouraging both flexibility and endurance. In this class you will learn traditional techniques (including fusion, Turkish and Egyptian styles) plus hot modern moves. At the end of each lesson there is a small dance combination for students to practice at home.

The samba class starts with a 20 minutes warm up that exercises basic isolation of the body, following by stretching and strengthening exercises. After the warm up Danielle introduces the students samba no pé (basic samba step) and passo marcado (simple choreographies) typical of the Rio Carnaval. The whole class happens in the sound of the upbeat and irresistible Brazilian music.

Students will learn basic steps and patterns with style tips, as well as lead/follow cues, for popular dances, including the waltz, foxtrot, American rumba, American tango and swing.
