Learn to create animations, add and remove items from the library, create basic action scripts, create GUIs, interact with a visitor and make banner ads. Students will be exposed to the software strengths, weaknesses, and workarounds. This course will also cover importing and exporting art from Adobe Illustrator, and using video and other multimedia components such as web-cam and microphone integration for communicating with web-site visitors.
Recommended Prerequisite: Photoshop (CGI0001) and then Illustrator (CGI0002)

Adobe Dreamweaver has been used by webmasters for years and continues to be a very popular method of web site design/creation. This course will introduce students to template creation, integrating video/Flash/sound elements, creating image hotspots, use of JavaScript, error checking, web browser compatibility, and CSS, as well as how to manage a web site from inception to completion. Students will take part in exercises that will help them plan the creation of their web site, work around software limitations, conduct navigation and information architecture research, as well as how to correct HTML problems manually.

Gain greater control of your website’s look and feel using CSS, the industry-standard technology for separating document content and presentation. In a series of project-driven labs, you will learn to standardize colors, fonts, and layouts across groups of pages, and to customize content for different browsers and mobile devices. This course also introduces XHTML, the functional equivalent of HTML which conforms to the XML specification.
Prerequisite : Website Design in HTML or equivalent background.
