Contemporary American Business Practices

This certificate prepares you for an MBA or a career in Finance, Accounting, or management. Designed for individuals who want to become familiar with the processes, routines, and practices of modern business, this program is relevant for domestic and international students who are interested in beginning or enhancing a career in business, preparing for business school, or getting introduced to the world of business. All classes meet Monday–Thursday evenings. For international students, this full-time, 18-hour-per-week program meets the requirements for an I-20 “certificate of eligibility” and allows students to apply for an F-1 student visa. Upon successful completion of this program, students may apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT), which is temporary employment directly related to the student’s field of study. Students must contact their International Student Advisor (ISO) to discuss eligibility to engage in OPT, as well as the steps that must be taken to request approval from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Authorization for OPT is not guaranteed.
